Remote Online Notarization (RON)

Bonny Flowerette is an online and in-person notary

RON stands for Remote Online Notarization. This is a process where the Notary meets a client virtually over a video call.
Online Notarization can be performed anywhere within the U.S.A. It can be done by appointment only. The signer’s identity is verified, and the document notarized is uploaded. The client signs the document virtually and the notary notarizes the document. When the video call is ended, both parties receive an encrypted and unchangeable copy of the signed document.

Requirements for Online Notarization:

A laptop or desktop computer with audio and video capabilities.

Reliable internet connection.

A valid Government-issued photo ID (Like a Drivers License or Passport).

US resident with SSN for knowledge-based security assessment (KBA).

Can all types of notarial acts be performed online or remotely?

No. While most notarial acts can be performed remotely, Wisconsin law does not authorize notaries to perform remote online notarial acts relating to any of the following:

  • The creation and execution of wills, codicils, or testamentary trusts.
  • The creation and execution of living trusts or trust amendments for personal use.
  • The creation and execution of powers of attorney, declarations to physicians (living wills), and authorizations for the use and disclosure of protected health care information.
  • The creation and execution of marital property agreements.
  • The administration of an oath before a witness at a deposition.
  • Notarial acts for individuals located outside the United States, unless the record that is the subject of the notarial act concerns property located within the U.S., a transaction substantially connected to the U.S., or a matter before a public official, court, governmental entity, or other entity subject to U.S. jurisdiction.

Should you wish to have any of these documents notarized, please contact me for an in-person notary appointment.

Before your Signing

Here's what you need to know before we meet

Your document is important to me, so I want to make sure you and I are on the same page...

Bring all pages, and please do not sign it until you are with me. Please bring your current photo ID. I cannot notarize a signature page by itself: I must have the entire document with all attachments presented before me for signature.
